M2000 Company Background M2000 was founded by Frederic Reblewski and Olivier Lepape in 1996, who spun off the company from Mentor Graphics' Emulation Division. Frederic and Olivier were the original founders of MetaSystems in 1993 and had succesfully developed and marketed high performance ASIC emulators based on their proprietary FPGA technology. Meta Systems was acquired by Mentor Graphics in 1995.

M2000's charter was to apply this proprietary FPGA technology to embedded FPGA cores in various SoC projects. Several ASICs and SOC's were successfully developed embedding M2000's FlexEOS cores. To this date, M2000 remains also an IP supplier to Mentor Graphics' Emulation Division.

In 2006, M2000 closed a large amount of VC funding to further develop its FPGA technology and apply it to specific very advanced programmable logic products. The company, now in stealth mode, has R&D facilities both Santa Clara, CA and Bievres (near Paris) in France.
